The uniiverse isn’t the same without you…

Indra's net is a metaphorical concept that originates from Buddhist philosophy and is often used to describe the interdependent nature of reality. According to the metaphor, Indra's net is a vast web that extends infinitely in all directions, with a radiant jewel at each intersection. Each jewel reflects every other jewel in the net, creating an interconnected, interdependent web of being.

This concept is closely related to the Buddhist concept of interbeing — the idea that everything in the universe exists in relationship to everything else, and that we are all part of an interconnected web of life. Moreover, any jewel removed or any string severed fundamentally alters the fabric of this reality.

Thus, all actions and choices have an impact not just on ourselves, but on the entire web of life. When we understand and live in harmony with this interconnected web, we can create a more compassionate, sustainable, and just world.

The “Strings” series, rendered in chalk pastel on paper, represents the fibers of Indra’s net and is inspired by the glowing nets that my mind casts visually over surfaces. As our lives unfurl, we begin to understand the grand unraveling of all the strings that bind us to eachother, to our experiences, and to the cosmos.
